Carbaldehyde Monomers
Carbaldehydes, together with indanones, have been used in the synthesis of highly efficient non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs), i.e. Y6 and Y7 which have achieved power conversion efficiency (PCE) over 19%. Carbaldehyde monomers can also form covalent organic polymers (COPs) with amines undergoing the classic amino-aldehyde condensation Schiff-base reaction.
