Dye-Sensitised Solar Cells (DSSC) Materials

Originally developed by Professor Michael Graetzel and Dr Brian O’Regan, and often referred to as "Grätzel cells", Dye-Sensitised Solar Cells (DSSC) are thin film solar cells designed around organic dyes in electrochemical cells.

Dye-Sensitised Solar Cells are considered to be the third generation of solar cell. They are comparatively cheap and straight-forward to produce and do not require the use of toxic chemicals. Recent research around DSSC solar cells has focused on improving their stability and efficiency.

Our range of DSSC materials includes active dyes such as Spiro-OMeTAD, the foundation dye N3, black dye N749, and cobalt electrolyte materials. Buy online.
