Boronates
Boronates, also known as boronate monomers, contain carbon-boron bonds. They are effective in organic synthesis and cross-coupling reactions as chemical building blocks or intermediates. In 2010, the development of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling with boronic acids was rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Boronates are particularly useful for semiconducting polymer synthesis.
