How Does a Translation Stage Work?
A translation stage converts rotary motion, using a drive mechanism, into precise linear movement. The carriage, which holds the object, moves smoothly along a straight path. Feedback systems ensure accurate positioning, and a controller enables user input to control the motion. The movement can be controlled using bespoke software, serial commands, or a manual control knob.
