The Luminosyn™ Range

For consistency and reliability between experiments, the Luminosyn™ range provides high-purity, batch-specific materials. Each batch undergoes several days of Soxhlet extraction. Under inert atmospheric conditions, the materials are washed repeatedly and undergo multiple precipitations to reduce oligomers, metal residues, and low molecular weight fractions. And to evaluate their quality, we run comprehensive analyses on every batch via UV-vis and GPC techniques.

Synthesized in-house, the Luminosyn™ range began in 2015 with the scale-up synthesis of two popular photovoltaic materials, PCDTBT and DPP-DTT. Since then, the range has extended to include more polymer semiconductors for higher-performance OPV materials.

Using scale-up synthesis, the availability of larger batches eliminates the inconsistency and inconvenience of obtaining different batches your materials from different suppliers. At the same time, this lowers the cost of synthesis, allowing us to offer you highly competitive prices. Plus, precise molecular weights with batch-specific data make it easy to better optimize and understand your experiments, providing a more reliable reference for those that follow your published procedures.

Where international standards exist, we design, test, and calibrate our equipment in line with these traceable standards, supplying the relevant calibration certificates or test data with each order. Our range of solar simulator products adhere to the latest standards, IEC 60904-9:2020 for testing outdoor solar cells and IEC TS 62607-7-2:2023 for testing indoor solar cells. For outdoor testing, our lamps have been designed to meet a Class AAA rating over a 15 mm diameter area to guarantee reliable small-area device characterization.

Feature-Specific Testing

The features we implement in our equipment are intentional, chosen to improve user experience and research outcomes. This is why feature functionality is validated through failure and endurance testing, making sure you get the most out of your equipment for a long time. For example, to ensure reliable temperature sensing in our UV ozone cleaner, each unit undergoes three one-hour operation cycles. After each cycle, the temperatures of the tray, UV lamps, and electronics are measured to confirm correct lamp operation and effective heating of the tray area. Details of these quality tests are provided on quality assurance forms supplied with relevant products.
