Peltier Stage
Peltier Temperature Controlled Stage for Heating and Cooling
Set or sweep the temperature of your samples
Overview | Specifications | Gallery | Software | In the Box
The Ossila Peltier Stage is a low price, sophisticated temperature control stage for heating and cooling samples. Built around a Peltier module attached to a copper plate, the device functions as both a heating stage and a cooling stage. Heat your samples up to 110°C to control the drying and annealing of your thin films, or cool the stage down to 0°C in a dry or purged environment to keep temperature-sensitive samples stable.
Programmable setpoints allow you to hold a constant temperature for incubating samples, or create and run repeatable temperature routines. The stage can be controlled with the included software which provides setpoint automation and live data plotting, or fully integrated into your experiments with the serial command library. Closed-loop control keeps the temperature within your specified margin, the copper plate ensures even heating across the stage surface, and active heatsinking improves performance and temperature stability. The live temperature readout is averaged across multiple sensors on the copper plate, and data can be plotted and exported for further analysis.
Built-in fault detection continuously monitors the Peltier driver, cooling fan and temperature sensors, and protects against overtemperature. If any fault occurs, the stage disables its output and the fault is reported in the software. An on-board status indicator shows at a glance what temperature range the stage is in or if it is in a fault state.
This system is suited to a range of temperature-sensitive experiments such as in-situ characterization of thin film drying, crystallization or phase separation and thermal optical characterization. As it can maintain stable temperatures indefinitely, it is useful for long-term studies such as thermal decomposition, stress testing and thermal cycling.

Ossila Peltier Stage Console
The included Ossila Peltier Stage Console gives you complete control over the stage for your experiment or process. Define your target temperature, allowed margin and PWM ramp time, and create, save and load setpoint programs to repeatably vary the stage temperature over time. Monitor your experiment with live time-series temperature plotting, heating and cooling status, fan speed and fault reporting, and export your data in CSV format for analysis.
The Ossila Peltier Stage Console is free to download and all updates are available at no extra cost. Alternatively, the Ossila Peltier Stage is fully controllable via the serial command library, which you can use to integrate it into your Python or MATLAB routines for full automation.
