Overview | Product Information | Related Products

4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-2-[4-(triphenylvinyl)phenyl]-1,3,2-dioxaborolane (CAS number 1260865-91-5) is a tetraphenylethylene derivative substituted with a pinacolborane. 4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-2-[4-(triphenylvinyl)phenyl]-1,3,2-dioxaborolane can be easily attached to a molecular scaffold through coupling reactions such as Suzuki-Miyaura coupling. By having a propeller-shaped structure, tetraphenylethylene is one of the most studied molecule for aggregation induced emission (AIE). A benzothiadiazole capped with two tetraphenylethylenes shows AIE characteristics.

4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-2-[4-(triphenylvinyl)phenyl]-1,3,2-dioxaborolane is also widely used for synthesizing electroluminescent dyes in applications of OLEDs. The resulting tetraphenylethylene-thienothiophene demonstrates maximum luminescence of 400 cd/m2 and luminous efficiency of 1.3 cd/A.
