Overview | Product Information | Related Products
[1,1':4',1''-terphenyl]-3,3'',5,5''-tetracarbaldehyde (CAS number 2380275-62-5) is a para-terphenyl building block with four aldehyde functional groups. [1,1':4',1''-terphenyl]-3,3'',5,5''-tetracarbaldehyde readily reacts with amines for imine-linkage COFs. The pore size of the COFs can be tailored under reticular synthesis, owing to the linear and rigid structure of [1,1':4',1''-terphenyl]-3,3'',5,5''-tetracarbaldehyde.
[1,1':4',1''-terphenyl]-3,3'',5,5''-tetracarbaldehyde can also be used to synthesize aminal-linkage COFs with piperazine. Compared to imine (sp2 hybridized nitrogen)-linkage COFs, aminal (sp3 hybridized nitrogen)-linkage COFs exhibit strong CO2 capture capacity and great hydrophilicity. The aminal-linkage COFs are able to electrocatalyze CO2 to C2H4 with Faraday efficiency up to 19.1%.
