Overview | Product Information | MSDS | Related Products

4,4',4'',4'''-([1,1'-Biphenyl]-4,4'-diylbis(azanetriyl))tetrabenzaldehyde (CAS number 865448-72-2) is a tetraphenylbenzidine derivative functionalized with four aldehyde groups. With a tetratopic geometry, it is commonly used for the synthesis of imine-linked COFs. The resulting COFs from 4,4',4'',4'''-([1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diylbis(azanetriyl))tetrabenzaldehyde and porphyrin are effective heterogeneous photocatalysts for reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerization through photoinduced electron transfer. Additionally, such COFs are applied in hydrogen evolution from water, exhibiting a hydrogen evolution rate up to 10 mmol/g·h.

COFs based on 4,4',4'',4'''-([1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diylbis(azanetriyl))tetrabenzaldehyde also find applications in two-photon absorption with a high two-photon cross-section value of 8756 GM/chromophore.
