The Anolyte Tank is a 100 mL reservoir for anolyte circulation in GDE flow cell and MEA electrolyser setups. Its simpler three-port design reflects the anode side's typically lower monitoring demands (in typical applications, usually just O₂ evolution and electrolyte turnover, without the same gas-product sampling needs as the cathode side).

In both water electrolysis and CO2RR, anodic process of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a well-characterized reaction. Hence, less attention is given towards studying the reaction pathways at the anode. This means the anolyte tank doesn't need the same complexity as its catholyte counterpart.  An inlet/outlet pair handles circulation, while the third port covers both O₂ venting and occasional sampling for pH or conductivity checks (useful for tracking electrolyte depletion in acidic PEM systems, or carbonate crossover effects in AEM/BPM configurations where anolyte can pick up species migrating from the cathode side).

For most bench-scale runs, this three-port arrangement keeps the anolyte side simple to plumb and maintain while providing opportunity to analyze the electrolyte degradation before it affects cell performance. For any complicated study, same 5-port reservoir designed as catholyte reservoir can be used as the anolyte reservoir.
