4',5'-Bis(4-aminophenyl)-[1,1':2',1''-terphenyl]-4,4''-diamine (BAPTPDA) is a cross-shaped terphenyl with 4 aniline groups sitting at 1,2,4,5-positions of a benzene ring. It has been mainly engaged as a tetratopic linker to construct COFs by condensation reactions with acids or aldehydes.
Magnetic covalent organic framework Fe3O4@COF(BAPTPDA-Dt), prepared by the Schiff base condensation of 2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzenedicarboxaldehyde and 4',5'-bis(4-aminophenyl)-[1,1':2',1″-terphenyl]-4,4″-diamine, demonstrates excellent magnetism, stability and recyclability. Fe3O4@COF(BAPTPDA-Dt) exhibits rapid extraction and sensitive determination of AFM1 and AFM2 in milk with negligible matrix effect.Imine-linked COFs with 4',5'-bis(4-aminophenyl)-[1,1':2',1''-terphenyl]-4,4''-diamine building blocks has also been used as photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reactions (HERs).
