In-situ Raman Electrochemical Cell Assembly

Captions

  1. Start by assembling the Working Electrode.
  2. Insert the Working Electrode Holder with an O-ring
  3. Loosen the screw and carefully attach the Working Electrode (WE).
  4. You can attach a WE of your choice. Normal, SERS, SHINERS
  5. Rotate the WE to position it closer to the Window. Make sure active material is coated on this side
  6. Secure the Electrode properly
  7. Specially designed Detachable L-shaped Glassy Carbon will also fit into the cell
  8. Need to Purchase Separately (C2040A1)
  9. L-shape design helps to reduce distortions by reducing the Gap between the WE and the Window
  10. Electrode Holder vs L Shaped Electrode Holder
Electrode Holder vs L Shaped Electrode Holder
  11. You can attach the Reference and Counter Electrodes next
  12. Adjust the O-ring to make the Reference Electrode positions well
  13. Use similar technique to position the Counter Electrode well
  14. Let’s attach the gas line now
  15. Use 3 mm inner diameter gas feedthrough screws to secure the line
  16. Recommended to use the lower port as the Gas Inlet
  17. Upper one as the Gas Outlet
  18. Push-fit connectors are provided to extend the gas tubing towards Swagelok fittings or Gas Analysis Chambers
  19. Let’s fit the Optical Window now  - Gaskets with different thickness are provided allowing users to adjust the distance between the electrode and the Optical Window
  20. Remove the PTFE Cap. Use the tool provided if too tight
  21. Place the gasket (Peel off the cover when you do it)
  22. You can fill up the electrolyte now before fitting the Optical window
  23. Place the Optical Window now. Quartz provided with the package
  24. Tighten the Lid
  25. Now you are ready to start your experiment
  26. Additional port is provided on the side. You can use it for sampling, temperature probing, gas purging, etc
