Alternative to HTL Solar 4 and HTL Solar 3 for OPV and perovskite solar cells
Specifications | MSDS | Related Products | Resources and Support
P SB 12 N PEDOT Complex, an alternative to HTL Solar 4 and HTL Solar 3, serves as a hole transport layer (HTL) in organic and perovskite photovoltaics. Using an alternative counter ionomer to PSS, P SB 12 N is based in a mixture of higher boiling point solvent anisole (methoxybenzene) and n-butanol. As a high boiling point solvent, anisole promotes highly crystalline thin films with longer drying times. Butanol as an alcohol, offers better wettability on the substrates, greater compatibility with perovskite active layer, and relatively higher film conductivity.
Increased Wettability
For materials dissolved in or degraded by water
High Quality
Produce high-performance
PV devices
Low Conductivity
With sheet resistance of
105 – 107 Ohm/sq
Versatile Use
Ideal for water sensitive materials or environments
Choosing a PEDOT:PSS Material
The future production of HTL Solar 4 PEDOT Complex and HTL Solar 3 PEDOT Complex is discontinued. We can only supply HTL Solar 4 (M1214) and HTL Solar 3 (M125) as stock lasts. Instead P SB 12 N PEDOT Complex is available as an alternative.
The main difference between P SB 12 N PEDOT Complex and HTL Solar 4 is the solvent system.

How to Spin Coat PEDOT Materials
For the deposition of thin films of PEDOT materials on a freshly prepared surface, we recommend using a vacuum-free spin coater and following this five-step process:
