7-(Diethylamino)-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin (CAS number 41934-47-8) is a fluorinated heterocyclic compound with a diethylamine (7-position) and a trifluoromethyl (4-position) substituents. As a coumarin derivative, 7-(Diethylamino)-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin is commonly applied as dyes with excellent light conversion capability with quantum yield of 94.8%. It is a promising candidate to be applied in OLEDs and dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs).
7-(Diethylamino)-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin can be modified with Lawesson's reagent to thiocoumarin. The modification allows further functionalization to the molecules resulting shifts in the absorption and emission spectra. The emission of the coumarin derivatives ranges from 380 nm to 550 nm, which is ideal for bioimaging.
