Aqueous Ag/AgCl reference electrodes and non-aqueous Ag/Ag+ reference electrodes are two of the most commonly used types for cyclic voltammetry, electrolysis and other electrochemical studies. The aqueous Ag/AgCl reference electrode features a silver wire coated with silver chloride is used for direct contact with saturated potassium chloride, typically 3M concentration in distilled water (not included).
