Aqueous Ag/AgCl reference electrodes and non-aqueous Ag/Ag+ reference electrodes are two of the most commonly used types for cyclic voltammetry, electrolysis and other electrochemical studies. Our low-price aqueous Ag/AgCl reference electrode make no compromises on quality and are sold sealed in a ceramic frit junction.

The aqueous Ag/AgCl reference electrode features a silver wire coated with silver chloride is used for direct contact with saturated potassium chloride, typically 3M concentration in distilled water (not included). Our Ag/AgCl reference electrode is simple, stable, and is capable of miniaturization.

How To Prepare a Reference Electrode

The reference electrode has a white cap which holds the silver or silver/silver chloride wire. The cap is detachable with a gentle force. Hold the glass tube and twist the white cap gently and pull it away from the glass tube. The glass tube is delicate so do not apply a strong force while holding the glass tube.
