Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) Terphenyl Ligand

A linear ligand linker for MOFs in applications of removing methane blue and highly efficient ion conductivity batteries

[1,1':4',1''-Terphenyl]-2',3,3'',5,5',5''-hexacarboxylic acid (H6TPHC), CAS number 1542274-12-3, has a linear terphenyl core with two carboxylic acid groups on each of the benzene rings, 2,5-positions of the central one and 3,5-positions on each of the end ones.

Porous metal–organic framework ZJU-24 with H4TPHC/H6TPHC as ligand linkers, shows strong interactions with methylene blue and thus the complete removal of methylene blue from aqueous solution can be realized.

Highly electronegative carboxyl-decorated anionic metal–organic framework (MOF), InOF based on indium ion cluster nodes and H6TPHC as the ligand linkers, possesses 12 negative sites that originate from the negatively charged secondary building unit and exposed carboxyl groups on the ligand in one unit cell. The abundant electronegative sites can facilitate the hopping of ions in channels and thus result in highly efficient ion conductivities for various metal ions.
