3,6-Bis(5-bromopyridin-2-yl)-2,5-bis(2-octyldodecyl)-2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (DPPDPy2Br), CAS number 1455028-34-8, is a pyridine-flanked diketopyrrolopyrrole building block for the synthesis of n-type polymer semiconductors, in the application of OFETs and OPVs. As both diketopyrrolopyrrole and pyridyl units are electron-deficient, they lower the HOMO energy level of the polymer semiconductors - making the polymer suitable as an electron acceptor with good electron mobilities.

This material (DPPDPy2Br) has been used in our own lab for the synthesis of DPPDPyBT (n-type).
