The Ossila Syringe Pump is built to be affordable, powerful, and precise. Pre-programme simple or complex sequences using the integrated software, or connect to a computer and control using simple serial commands. Our syringe pumps are compatible with a range of syringe sizes, from 0.5 μl to 60 ml, and feature adjustable force control, safety switches, and stall detection.
The single channel model offers equal force control in infusion and withdrawal modes for controlled delivery of a single solution. In more complex experiments, the dual model has two pumps which can be controlled independently and operated in either infusion or withdrawal mode.

Single or Dual: Which Do I Need?
The single syringe pump is best suited for applications involving single solutions, including dynamic spin coating. It works well when incorporated with large area coating techniques and is ideal for studies focusing on simple flow dynamics or fluid adhesion.
The dual syringe pump offers independent channel control, making it the right choice when you need to use multiple syringes with different pump rates. It is particularly useful for sequential layer deposition, whether you are spin coating multiple layers or carrying out anti-solvent quenching. Our dual model also supports simple chemistry flow experiments and more complex experimental processes that involve multiple reagents, such as continuous syringe pumping, emulsification processes, solution mixing, and polymerization.

Rate Accuracy** | ±0.16% |
** The Ossila Syringe Pump has a stepping accuracy of 0.16%, which gives a rate accuracy of 19 nm.s-1. In practice, the accuracy of the flow rate from a syringe pump depends on the accuracy of the driver and the syringe diameter. Different syringes have different manufacturing tolerances. The diameter of plastic disposable syringes can vary by up to 3%, resulting in an error in dispense rate of up to 6%. Glass and stainless steel syringes have a higher tolerance, with a maximum of 0.5% variation in the internal diameter and volume error of up to 1%.

Maximum and Minimum Flow Rate
The maximum and minimum flow rate of the syringe pump is determined by the stepping rate of the motor and the diameter of the syringe. Maximum and minimum flow rates for some common syringe sizes are shown below. By choosing the correct syringe diameter, it is possible to achieve a range of dispense rates spanning 8 orders of magnitude.
Syringe Volume | Syringe Diameter | Minimum Flow Rate | Maximum Flow Rate |
---|---|---|---|
0.5 µl | 0.103 mm | 0.6 pl.s-1 (2.1 nl.hr-1) | 42 nl.s-1 (0.15 ml.hr-1) |

Syringe Pump Features

Precise Solution Dispensing
The Ossila Syringe Pump uses high quality motors and our unique driver technology. With over 25,000 microsteps per revolution, the smooth motion enables ultra-low dispense rates and volumes with incredible accuracy. Ideal for highly sensitive experiments that require precise liquid dispensing at a controlled rate.

Broad Syringe Compatibility
Our universal syringe clamp is designed to fit a wide range of syringes, from 0.5 μl to 60 ml in volume, and is compatible with syringes from all major brands. For most applications, we recommend Norm-Ject Disposable Luer Lock Syringes.

Programmable for Intuitive Control
With built-in software, the syringe pump can store up to 10 programs, each of which can have up to 100 steps. Take advantage of this flexibility to run experiments with ease, while maintaining complete control. The interface is simple, so you can expect a user-friendly experience even when programming complicated routines.

USB Connectivity
The new syringe pump can easily connect to and receive commands from external systems. Simply link it to a computer and control using simple serial commands. This feature means it can be more easily integrated into a wide variety of experimental systems. This is also great when controlling more complex experiments and processes.

High Maximum Available Force
The new Ossila Syringe Pump design increases the maximum available force during both infusion and withdrawal modes. This higher capacity means that the Syringe Pump can handle a wide range of solution viscosities. It can deal with higher levels of back pressure, which can be useful for systems with long tubing, small diameters, or dispensing into pressurized environments.
