Quantum Dots, Carbon Nanotubes and 2D Materials
Low dimensional materials such as 2D materials, carbon nanotubes (1D) and quantum dots (0D) are the subject of much interest in both research and the media. The materials have a huge potential, which has not yet been fully explored. Commercial applications of 2D materials include transistors and sensors, battery electrodes, topological insulators and valleytronics. Meanwhile, quantum dots could revolutionise LED fabrication for display devices and pave the way for the creation of new, highly efficient solar cells.
