The electrochemical cell kit offers unbeatable value. Included is the electrochemical cell itself, plus three electrodes: a platinum disc working electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode, and either an aqueous AgCl reference electrode or a non-aqueous Ag/Ag+ reference electrode. Together with the Ossila Potentiostat, it offers an easy and affordable route for performing cyclic voltammetry and other electrochemical studies in either solution or film. The electrochemical cell is where the chemical reaction happens by passing electricity through the electrodes. With the potentiostat and selected three electrodes, cyclic voltammetry can be carried out to obtain both oxidation and reduction potentials of the semiconducting materials, i.e. OLED small molecules or OPV polymers. Highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels can thus be calculated from the measurements.
This is the 'standard' electrochemical cell. H-type cells are also available, as are cells with a luggin capillary. If temperature control is required for your application, we also stock 100 ml electrochemical cells with a built-in water bath.
