Solvent-resistant disposable syringes for solution preparation and filtration

High-quality syringes available to purchase in different sizes

Ossila offer a range of Norm-Ject™ Luer lock disposable all plastic (solvent-resistant)  syringes for solution preparation and filtration.

Norm-Ject two-part syringes are one of the few made solely from virgin-grade polypropylene plastic. This means that unlike most syringes, Norm-Ject syringes form a tight seal without needing a rubber plunger. This is important when working with solutions that are incompatible with rubber seals (e.g. acids and chlorinated solvents).

In addition, these syringes come with Luer lock attachments (1 ml Luer slip only), allowing for the secure addition of needles and filters. The syringes are individually packed and sterile in unopened, undamaged packages.

Norm-Ject syringes are compatible with both the Ossila Single Syringe Pump and Dual Syringe Pump.

Usage Demonstration

In this video, an Ossila syringe filter is used with a C112 disposable syringe to filter PEDOT:PSS in preparation for spin coating onto a substrate.

Getting a high quality PEDOT:PSS film is critical for effective device performance and is often the most difficult part of device fabrication. PEDOT:PSS requires a pristine and hydrophilic surface in order to coat properly, which should have been achieved with the cleaning routine above. It is also critical to ensure that the active areas have not come into contact with any other surfaces as this will affect how well the ITO will spin.

The grade and composition of PEDOT:PSS is also very important. We use Heraeus CleviosTM P AI 4083 which is filtered prior to use through a 0.45 μm PES filter. It is very important to use a rubber-free syringe as many rubbers are attacked by the acidic nature of the PEDOT:PSS.
