Photonic and Optical Materials
In simple words, photonic materials are a class of materials that create, detect, or manipulate light through the process of emission, transmission, modulation, amplification, sensing and signal processing. Photonic materials have various applications in organic optoelectronics, displays, telecommunications, data storage and sensing. While optical materials are those that are fabricated into optical elements such as photodetectors, lenses, prisms, polarizers and modulators to reflect, absorb, focus or split an optical beam.
Photonic and optical materials include laser, phthalocyanine/porphyrin, photochromic and NIR dyes, photoluminescent and refractive index (RI) control materials.
