Carbaldehyde Monomers
Carbaldehyde, together with indanones, have been used in the synthesis of highly efficient fullerene acceptors (NFAs), i.e. Y6 and Y7 which have achieved power conversion efficiency (PCE) over 19%. Carbaldehyde monomers can also form covalent organic polymers (COPs) with amines undergoing the classic amino-aldehyde condensation Schiff-base reaction.
