A Variety of New Materials have been Added to Our Collection
Posted on Tue, Jul 19, 2016 by Lucy Roberts
This week's new molecular materials include C60 derivatives with higher solubility and higher open circuit voltage in solar cells than the standard electron acceptor material PCBM, in addition to popular phosphorescent bipolar host materials.
New products are continually being added to the catalogue, so make sure to keep a look out. You can also check out our brand new monomers catalogue for other available materials.
Ir(ppy)2(bpmp)
Order Code: M761
Similarly to Ir(ppy)3, Ir(ppy)2(bpmp) is a phosphorescent green emitter. It is reported that the introduction of the para position methyl group to the pyridine nitrogen provides a twist and also an electron-donating effect. This raises the LUMO energy level of the complex, in addition to the triplet energy level, resulting a blue shift in the emission.

CAS number | 1215692-34-4 |
Chemical formula | C40H30IrN3 |
Molecular weight | 744.90 g/mol |
Absorption | λmax = 212 nm, 244 nm, 285 nm |
26DCzPPy
Order Code: M771
With combination of a carbazole electron donor with a high triplet energy and a pyridine electron acceptor with a high electron affinity, 26DCzPPy is one of the most popular bipolar charge transport layer host materials used in OLEDs.

CAS number | 1013405-24-7 |
Chemical formula | C41H27N3 |
Molecular weight | 561.67 g/mol |
HOMO/LUMO | HOMO = 6.05 eV, LUMO = 2.56 eV |
35DCzPPy
Order Code: M781
35DCzPPy is an isomer of 26DCzPPy, differing in the position of the functionalisations of the central pyridine ring. 35DCzPPy is more electron rich, so 26DCzPPy has a better balanced hole and electron injection and transport than 35DCzPPy.

Chemical formula | C41H27N3 |
Molecular weight | 561.67 g/mol |
HOMO/LUMO | HOMO = 6.18 eV, LUMO = 2.75 eV |
[60]PCBH
Order Code: M821
[60]PCBH, Phenyl-C61-butyric acid hexyl ester is a fullerene derivative of C60 that is more soluble than PCBM. This makes it more desirable when higher concentrations of the electron acceptor material are required when making photovoltaic devices.

CAS number | 850807-50-0 |
Chemical formula | C77H24O2 |
Molecular weight | 981.01 g/mol |
HOMO/LUMO | No data available; comparable to PCBM (HOMO 6.1 = eV, LUMO = 3.7 eV) |
[60]IPB
Order Code: M831
[60]IPB is also a fullerene derivative of C60 which is used as an electron acceptor material in photovoltaic cells. In comparison with PCBM and its derivatives, [60]IPX fullerenes (where X is either B (butyl), H (hexyl) or O (octyl)) give about 50 mV higher open circuit voltage (VOC).
