New Guide Available: Spin Coating Film Thickness

Posted on Thu, Apr 04, 2019 by Ashley Wong

Spin coating is a simple and straightforward thin-film deposition technique. As such, it is a great technique for beginners due to its relatively low barrier-to-entry.

However, to become highly skilled at spin coating, it is beneficial to understand how the background physics involved (in terms of physical factors and solution properties) can affect the films you produce, and how they dictate eventual film thickness.

In the latest guide by our PhD student Emma Spooner, we cover the basic steps of spin coating and explore a couple of models on film thickness equations. You can read more here - Spin Coating: A Guide to Film Thickness.
