After more than five years in Sheffield as a PhD student and then a postdoctoral research scientist, with over ten papers published, Darren Watters has moved to London to follow his long term dream of becoming a patent attorney. As such, we would like to say a big thank you to Darren for all his hard work and wish him well with his future endeavors!
We are currently finalising the recruitment for Darren's long term replacement to work with perovskites and slot die coating. However, in the short term Darren's work will be continued by Alex Barrows who we'd like to say a big welcome to.
Alex did his PhD in perovskites with Ossila director, Professor David Lidzey, at the University of Sheffield and was one of the first to publish a paper on spray coating high efficiency perovskite solar cells which made national and international news.
Alex is also a world class climber though and so he will soon be off traveling the world for six months tackling some of the best and most difficult climbs. However, having submitted his PhD thesis and awaiting his viva Alex will be lending a hand here at Ossila for the next five weeks.
